The final deadline that U.S. President Donald Trump set for Russia to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine may come sooner than 50 days. According to G.Business, Trump made this statement during a conversation with journalists.

“I don’t think 50 days is very long. And this deadline for Russia may end sooner,” said Trump.

According to him, if no agreement is reached by the end of the 50-day period, “it will be very bad.” In that case, the United States will continue to apply tariffs and other sanctions against Russia.

Trump gave Putin 50 days to conclude a peace deal

As a reminder, U.S. President Donald Trump said he was disappointed with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin due to the lack of progress in peace agreements regarding the war in Ukraine.

He noted that he had expected a peace agreement with Putin two months ago, but it had not happened. Because of this, Trump promised to impose strict economic measures against Russia.

“We will introduce secondary tariffs if we do not reach an agreement within 50 days. It’s very simple, and they will be at the level of 100. That’s how it will be,” emphasized the American leader. He also expressed hope that such measures can be avoided but stressed that the United States is ready to act firmly.
