Palma de Mallorca, July 5, 2025 – A Ryanair flight RK3445 from Palma de Mallorca to Manchester was dramatically evacuated early Saturday morning after a fire alarm was triggered in the cockpit. The warning turned out to be false, but it caused panic on board. This report was prepared by G.Business, citing HuffPost España.
The Boeing 737 was carrying approximately 190 passengers and had just begun taxiing around 00:30 local time when the pilot aborted takeoff and initiated an emergency evacuation. According to airport authority AENA, several emergency exits automatically deployed. Passengers exited via inflatable slides, while some jumped off the wings in panic.
Emergency services, including ambulances and fire crews, responded quickly. 18 people sustained minor injuries, including bruises and sprains. Six passengers were hospitalized, three each at Clínica Rotger and Quirónsalud Palmaplanas. The rest received treatment at the scene.
Ryanair confirmed that the alarm was a technical malfunction and publicly apologized. A replacement aircraftcompleted the journey to Manchester, departing around 07:05 AM on the same day.
Spanish aviation authorities have opened an investigation into the cause of the false alarm and the evacuation protocol. Media reports have raised questions about onboard communication and emergency procedures.
