Agricultural machinery manufacturer Claas has officially unveiled its new Jaguar 1000 forage harvester series, setting a new performance benchmark in the segment. The top model, the Jaguar 1200, is powered by a MAN V12 engine with a displacement of 24 litres, delivering up to 1,100 horsepower. According to the manufacturer, the machine can achieve a throughput of up to 500 tonnes per hour. This was reported by G.Business, citing agrarheute.com.
The series includes the Jaguar 1080, 1090, 1100 and 1200 models, with engine outputs ranging from 850 to 1,100 hp. A wide crop channel and fully hydraulic precompression of the four feed rollers are designed to ensure uniform crop flow and improved chop quality. The new drive concept allows for an independent, continuously variable drive of the intake and front attachment. Power is transmitted via a belt drive directly to the 91 cm-wide V-Flex chopping drum and the corn cracker, while a separate pump gearbox improves efficiency and reduces wear.
For use in challenging field conditions, the Jaguar 1000 is equipped with an intelligent all-wheel drive system. Maintenance and cleaning have been simplified through hydraulically liftable precompression rollers and a precompression unit that can be folded open by up to 80 degrees. According to Claas, the V-Flex drum’s steep knife angle enables more efficient and quieter cutting.
The Multi Crop Cracker XL with a 310 mm roller diameter is available in two versions: MCC XL Classic with a 40% speed differential and MCC XL Shredlage with a 50% differential. Both are designed to deliver consistent silage processing regardless of chop length.
Digital technology also plays a key role: Through Claas Connect, an AI-powered Chop Quality Analysis provides the CSPS value (Corn Silage Processing Score) in real time, enabling precise adjustment of the corn cracker settings. Driver assistance systems such as Cemos Auto Performance, Auto Crop Flow and the joystick steering system enhance operating comfort, while telematics and data-sharing functions support efficient farm management.
To maximise versatility, Claas offers new attachments: the Pick-up 3000, 3800 and 4500 models, as well as Orbis maize headers for up to 14 rows (with working widths of 9.00 m and 10.50 m), featuring independent drives and automatic adjustment via Cemos Auto Header or Auto Contour.
Series production of the Claas Jaguar 1000 will begin in autumn 2025, with live yield mapping via Cemis 1200 becoming available from 2026.
