Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Keith Kellogg, the United States' special envoy for Ukraine. According to G.Business, citing the president’s statement on social media, the two discussed pathways to peace, including the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense systems, joint arms production with European countries, and additional sanctions against Russia and those supporting it.

“We are counting on U.S. leadership. It is clear that Moscow will not stop unless its destructive ambitions are stopped by force. I thank Keith Kellogg for this visit to Ukraine,” Zelensky stated.

Kellogg had previously announced a week-long visit to Kyiv. On July 9, he also met with President Zelensky in Rome, where they discussed military aid and the importance of boosting Ukraine’s air defense—a priority amid continued Russian attacks.

The leaders further addressed joint defense manufacturing, the localization of production in Ukraine, and the procurement of U.S. weapons. Sanctions pressure against Russia was also a key item on the agenda.

Kellogg recently stated that the U.S. government has a vision for what a final peace document to end the Russian-Ukrainian war could look like.

In June, Kellogg visited Belarus, where he met with Alexander Lukashenko, the country’s internationally unrecognized president. According to Belarus’s UN representative Valentin Rybakov, the talks with the U.S. also included discussions on the war in Ukraine.
