Berlin traffic alert: A100 and A111 closed at night until October 17 for tunnel and road maintenance works

Berlin drivers face night closures on A100 and A111 until October 17 for maintenance and tunnel works. Full schedule, detours and advice.

Berlin, October 7, 2025 – Berlin motorists should prepare for major night-time disruptions as sections of the A100 and A111 highways close for maintenance, resurfacing, and tunnel safety checks. The closures, which will continue until October 17, are part of the city’s preventive infrastructure upgrade aimed at extending road durability, reducing accident risks, and improving tunnel ventilation and drainage systems. This was reported by G.Business, citing Renewz.de.

The A100 between Kurfürstendamm and Spandauer Damm will be closed towards Wedding from October 7 to October 10, nightly from 21:00 to 05:00, with access ramps closing from 20:00. Drivers heading to the northern districts are advised to take the Cityring via Messedamm and Kaiserdamm, or use the B2 and B5 corridors, which remain fully open.

From October 10 at 20:00 until October 13 at 05:00, the A100 section towards Treptow between Innsbrucker Platz and Detmolder Straße will be fully closed for resurfacing above the Innsbrucker Platz tunnel. The Senate Department for Mobility recommends using the Bundesallee or Sachsendamm, especially for commuters from Schöneberg and Wilmersdorf.

Between October 14 and October 17, the A100 will again close in both directions between Heckerdamm and Hohenzollerndamm. Limited space due to the dismantled Ringbahn bridge makes a double closure unavoidable, with detours routed via Heerstraße, Halenseestraße, and Kaiserdamm.

On the A111, night maintenance affects tunnels in Tegel, Forstamt Tegel, and Beyschlagsiedlung. On October 8, both directions between Schulzendorfer Straße and Am Festplatz will close from 21:00 to 05:00. Crews will test emergency lighting, drainage systems, and smoke ventilation.

Drivers are urged to plan city crossings before 20:00, as lane restrictions already begin an hour before the official closure. Those traveling to Tegel, Wedding, or Reinickendorf can save time by using B96 or Seidelstraße, while southbound drivers should use A115 (Avus) as an alternative link to A100.
Taxis and delivery services are advised to update their navigation systems to avoid late detours, and logistics operators should reschedule overnight freight runs to after 5:00 a.m.

Fuel up before entering central Berlin: detours and slow traffic in narrow city streets can lead to unexpected delays of up to 30 minutes.
Public parking lots near ICC, Tempelhof, and Alt-Tegel remain open and can serve as temporary drop-off or transfer points for commuters switching to public transport.
